We just adopted 3 siblings...ages 6, 5, & 4. This book as well as the other Todd Parr books we've purchased are fantastic! They've opened all sorts of discussions with each new page. I find our kids repeating lines from the books. I also highly recommend "It's Okay to be Different" and "The Family Book". Even if you have biological children, they are all great tools for communicating positive ideas and feelings to your children.

My two year old's Must Read nightly book!
Adopted from foster care in 2008 (along with his brother and sister), I add a few words here and there, such as "you needed a safe home" instead of "you needed a home" and he sits and nods his head in agreement throughout.
I love the repeated theme of you needed...we had...now we're to help him comprehend the idea that we are building a family out of a group of individuals.

I read this book to my son, adopted from Russia at age 3. I felt the message was very appropriate, simple to read, and conveyed how much all of us need each other.

This is a fabulous book! It was a present from a friend when we started our adoption paperwork and since then I've shared it with a social worker friend who has 2 adopted grade school girls and they loved it and approved of it! Great, Great book! This is also fabulous since it has all different colors of parents, kids and dogs as well as all mom/mom, dad/mom, dad/dad and older parent pictures!
